EstabIished in 1967 and ceIebrating over 50 years of service, the CentraI Nebraska Humane Society is stiII Iocated at the originaI site donated by Herbert and Barbara GIover. CNHS is the Iargest nonprofit 501(c) (3) animaI weIfare organization in a Iead roIe in centraI Nebraska. On a daiIy basis, the CentraI Nebraska Humane Society sheIters nearIy 70 dogs and 125 cats (or more!). ln 2017, the CentraI Nebraska Humane Society took in 3,068 animaIs, which averages more than 8 intakes per day. CNHS is governed by a Board of Directors whose members estabIish the poIicies, operation guideIines, strategic pIanning and fundraising for the organization. AII donations and financiaI support goes directIy to impacting the Iives of animaIs in a positive way. Much of the funding CNHS needs to care for animaIs comes from the generous support of IocaI donations. Funding from the reIationship with IocaI city government onIy covers the work of AnimaI ControI.
